In January 2004 R22 gas was banned for use in new air conditioning installs across the EU, due to its O Zone depleting substances. Six years later in January 2010 any virgin R22 was banned from being used in any maintenance or repair works, and now, since January 2015, all R22 gas including recycled and reclaimed, is banned for use in repairs and maintaining.
Companies will be breaking the law should the R22 regulations not be followed, therefore replacement of any air conditioning installed pre 2004 with a new modern system is not only the most cost effective solution due to its energy saving modern digital inverter controlled systems, but quickly becoming essential.
